The purpose of this contract is the drafting and definition at the Informative Study level of the conditioning of the A-2622 road and the Salinas de Añana Bypass between P.K. 22.90 (end of the route defined by the Pobes Bypass) and P.K. 30.50. From these points, the conditioning of the route will be studied with all the possible alternatives for the passage of the Puerto de la Tejera and its continuation with the Salinas de Añana By-pass.
The Informative Study will consist of the definition, in general lines, of the layout of the road so that it can serve as a basis for the public information file and the environmental impact assessment process.
On the one hand, the scope of the work includes the study of the different alternatives for improving and conditioning the Tejera pass. This mountain pass is located on the A-2622 regional road, is five kilometers long (KP 22.90 and KP 28.00) and currently has a roadway just over five meters wide (without shoulders) with a very winding route and sharp curves. To this must be added the existence of steep slopes and poor visibility in some of its sections that undermine safety. This is especially worrying in the winter months with the presence of ice and snow on the road.
On the other hand, the best route for the future Salinas de Añana bypass will be defined. This intervention is already contemplated in the current urban planning, land reserve included. But it is advisable to review and study the feasibility of a new route for the bypass that is further away from the town center, taking into account that the Cultural Landscape of the Salt Valley has been a Cultural Asset with the category of Monumental Site since 2013.
The improvement of the Tejera pass is a necessary project to improve the connection between Vitoria and Cuadrilla de Añana. The residents of this region have been demanding this work for a long time, since it is the only area of the territory whose natural passage by road has not been modified, contrary to what has happened in other regions such as Montaña, Rioja Alavesa and Ayala.
