As part of the works for the Amezketa sewerage project and the Amezketa to Ugarte cycle-pedestrian pathway, a sewerage management solution has been designed for the collection of wastewaters. It will be carried out in the municipalities of Abaltzisketa and Amezketa and the Larraitz district of the Alegia municipality for centralized management in the Aduna D.W.W.T.P., connecting through the Interceptor of the Oria Medio in Alegia. Priority has been given to avoiding the introduction of rainwater into the system, thus minimizing the volume of water to be managed.

To this end, it has been necessary to define a series of actions on the existing unitary sanitation systems, which allow the separation of rainwater at source, so that the new projected network collects only sewage. In addition, it has been taken into account to leave viable connections so that, with future municipal and private actions, the entire population of the municipalities covered by the project can be connected to the projected network.

The works have been divided into two different projects. The first, corresponding to the Amezketa-Ugarte Section, with a total length of 2,996.5 m of PVC collector type SDR-34 SN8 of Ø 315 mm, and with a bicycle-pedestrian path of 1,780 m in length.

The second, the Ugarte-Alegia Section, with a total length of 4,192.3 m of PVC collector type SDR-34 SN8 of Ø 315 mm, has the particularity that, given the narrowness of the Amezketa river valley, it has been necessary to implement part of the route along the GI-2133 roadway, avoiding having to run along the riverbed. For this purpose, a pumping station has been designed to pump the wastewater to the level of the roadway, by means of a small 25.4 m pumping station.

On the other hand, the “Elduain river sanitation project” is developed along the municipalities of Berastegi, Elduain, Berrobi, Belauntza and Ibarra, in a linear way, along a route parallel to the Elduain riverbed and the GI-2130 road, up to the connection with the Interceptor of the Oria Medio in Ibarra.

The purpose of the projected sewage network is to collect wastewater from the aforementioned municipalities for centralized management in the Aduna D.W.W.T.P., connecting through the Oria Interceptor in Ibarra. Priority has been given to avoiding the introduction of rainwater into the system, thus minimizing the volume of water to be managed.
