The main objective is the basic definition, approximate valuation and constructive definition of the necessary works for the connection that will take place between the urban center of Bermeo and the beginning of the pedestrian itinerary that forms the green infrastructure that runs through the Biosphere Reserve of Urdaibai. The projected solution pursues two different objectives that, precisely, identify two different parts of the design of the solution: a purely urban itinerary and another natural itinerary parallel to the first one and through the green area to be developed.
Firstly, the need to guarantee accessibility to the neighborhood itself and to the itineraries to the south of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve makes it necessary to transform the current sidewalk, narrow and with different configurations in each section, into a route with a width of 2.0 m free of obstacles, providing it with architectural continuity along its entire length.
The second objective, the generation of a landscape and environmental ensemble in the area that is conceived as the anteroom of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, defines an itinerary parallel to the previous sidewalk, but with a completely different design, much more naturalized. For this purpose, wood is used as a surface finish that naturally crosses the revegetated environment on the hillside.
In the first zone, as mentioned above, the width of the sidewalk is 1.00-1.60 meters. It is proposed to increase the section of the sidewalk by means of a structure to provide it with 3 m free. In the second zone it can be divided into the sidewalk parallel to the street and the natural itinerary.
