The purpose of the contract is to provide Technical Assistance services to the Department of Economic and Territorial Development of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia for the drafting of Road Safety, Improvement and Modernization Projects of the General Directorate of Infrastructures and Territorial Development. The purpose of these works is the drafting of studies, reports and/or projects that increase road safety, improving and upgrading it.

The studies or reports consist of the preparation of technical documents (studies, reports, etc.). Based on all these analyzed data, a diagnosis is made to present a series of proposals to improve the road safety of a section or area of the road network analyzed.

The project consists of the preparation, in accordance with the requirements of current legislation, of the following documents: Memory, Plans, Technical Specifications, Budget, Health and Safety Study and Specific Road Safety Study. These documents are necessary to define in detail the works to be carried out and how they are to be performed. They ensure the standardization of the materials to be used and the different work units to be executed, in order to achieve optimum results combining the technical and economic points of view. This happens both in the construction phase of the works and in those of their conservation and operation, complying in each of the matters with the corresponding regulations.

The work to be carried out includes, among others, studies and reports on traffic and road safety, studies of routes and alternatives, studies and reports on geology and geotechnics, studies and reports on signaling, beaconing and safety barriers, urban planning, project drafting, calculation and design of structures, pavements, slope stabilization, lighting, environment and characterization of landfills. We also provide advice on calculations, design and evaluation of projects or works, drafting work, reproduction and preparation of graphic and/or written documentation and auxiliary surveying and stakeout work.
