The general purpose of this contract is to provide support services for the Management, Control and Supervision of the construction works associated with the New High Speed Railway Network (HST) in the Basque Country corresponding to the Hernani – Astigarraga Phase II section, Ergobia overpass, Ergobia pedestrian footbridge and ADIF Madrid – Irun line stop in Astigarraga.

The purpose of the Hernani-Astigarra section (Phase II) of the New Railway Network in the Basque Country is to develop the actions that remain to be executed, with certain modifications, of the Modified and Complementary Platform Project of the NRFPV of the Hernani-Astigarraga section. The section is entirely developed in the Historical Territory of Gipuzkoa, occupying land belonging to the municipalities of Hernani, Astigarraga and Donostia/San Sebastián. In the section that is the object of the project, the platform of the UIC trunk is built, inserting it between the tracks of the Iberian gauge line (AC) and materializing the connections between both systems once the differences in elevation that separate them in elevation have been overcome.

Thus, a section of track beach is generated in which the tracks (UIC trunk and lateral AC) fit in straight alignment and constant slope. In this section it is planned to build a station for the Iberian gauge line, which is also included in the scope of this assistance, and then carry out the works of phase II. The end of the route will continue with the future route of the trunk of the next section of the NRFPV, the Astigarraga-Oiartzun section.

In reference to the pedestrian footbridge and the overpass in Ergobia, it should be mentioned that the Ergobia Pedestrian Footbridge is a provisional structure over the UIC conventional gauge tracks that temporarily replaces the passage from one side to the other of the existing tracks.

The Ergobia Overpass, on the other hand, corresponds to the road that replaces the passage from one side to the other of the existing tracks, due to the closure of the Ergobia level crossing, as well as the repositioning of the numerous affected services present in the area. Both actions, although they are not part of the specific section mentioned above, are closely related to the New Railway Network in the Basque Country, which is why they are included in the framework of this contract.

On the other hand, the works also include the construction of a stop on the ADIF Madrid-Irun line for the insertion of the high-speed line corresponding to the Hernani-Astigarraga section, which will run parallel to the current conventional network, which will be connected in the municipality of Astigarraga.
